Football and Education
Derby County Community Trust has a wealth of experience delivering high quality post 16 education for male and female learners throughout Derbyshire.
Our current pupil roll exceeds 250 post 16 learners, studying a variety of qualifications across 6 different education venues. Depending on the learner's academic ability, learners can study A Levels, BTEC Equivalents in Sport at Level 3 and Level 2; as well as a unique construction and brick laying qualification. At certain venues, we can also offer students the opportunity to re sit their maths and English GCSE's if needed.
All students play football alongside their studies on the Football & Education Programme, training 3 times a week and playing in fixtures every Wednesday in the EFL CEFA League, representing Derby County. Our coaches' qualifications range from UEFA B, UEFA A and UEFA Pro Licence allowing us to offer the very best football coaching we can, working to a planned syllabus across specific topics relevant to the game. Each learner also receives two reviews a year on their football development using our state of the art tracking and monitoring tool, Commentary Box.
In addition to this, using our four Veo cameras, this allows us to film our games giving our learners footage that can be used for coaching purposes as well as creating individual video packages to send to academies and universities in the USA.
We pride ourselves on our quality of provision which is why we work with a variety of different education partners across Derbyshire to ensure a high-quality education regardless of where you live. Our education partners have outstanding reputations for education delivery across the county, ensuring our students receive a top-quality education alongside their football provision.

“The collaboration between our school and Derby County Community Trust, along with the opening of the school’s new 3G astro in June 2019, has seen the partnership is going from strength to strength with increased numbers and our first girls’ cohort. It is a truly unique part of our Sixth Form offer.”
