The School Games, which is funded by Sport England National Lottery funding and delivered by the Youth Sport Trust, is a government led programme designed to deliver competitive school sport to all young people.

Derby County Community Trust host two School Games Organisers (SGOs) covering all schools in Derby City. The School Games events consist of four unique types of competition: intra-school competitions, local inter-school competitions, county finals, and the School Games National Finals. The aim of the School Games is to keep competitive sport at the heart of schools and providing more young people with the opportunity to compete and achieve their personal best.
