About
Free football, sports and activity sessions.
Premier League Kicks, funded by the Premier League through the Premier League Charitable Fund, uses the power of football and sport to inspire young people to reach their potential, in some of the most high-need areas in England and Wales.
Launched in season 2006/07, in partnership with the Metropolitan Police, today Derby County Community Trust is one of 93 professional football club community organisations delivering Premier League Kicks. The programme supports young people in regular, positive and fun activity, whilst helping to create stronger, safer, more inclusive communities.
Derby County Community Trust began it's Premier League Kicks delivery in 2014 and since then has supported hundreds of young people aged 8-19 through sessions across Derby.
Nationally, more than half a million young poeple have participated in Premier League Kicks football and multi-sport sessions across England and Wales, and more than one million hours of sessions have been delivered to date.
Delivered in the hearts of our communities on local parks and in community centres, it takes activity to the doorsteps of children and young people who might not be able to attend otherwise. Participants are encouraged to not just take part in sessions but also to represent Derby County at regional and national level and engage with important initiatives.
The project works with key partners including the local authority, youth offending teams, housing associations, the Derbyshire Police and Crime Commissioner, local health service providers, Kick It Out, Show Racism the Red Card, Derbyshire FA and the Prince's Trust.
Sessions are also delivered in collaboration with education providers, including schools, colleges and universities.
PL KICKS-PAN DISABILITY SESSIONS
Derby County Community Trust offer several pan-disability sessions to support all ages with taking part in physical activity. Some of these sessions are now being delivered at part of our PL Kicks delivery.
