Mental Health First Aid

Support Support

Derby County Community Trust are accredited partners of Mental Health First Aid England. We are licensed to deliver their Awareness (half day), Champion (one day) and full First Aider (two day) qualifications for Youth and Adult mental health.

We can deliver these courses both online and in person to a range of delegates, including teachers, individuals and businesses.

They will teach you the skills and confidence to spot the signs of mental health issues, offer first aid and recommend relevant support they need.

Our courses won't teach you to be a therapist, but we will teach you to listen, reassure and respond, even in a crisis - and even potentially stop a crisis from happening.

In addition, all Derby County Community Trust staff will complete a level of qualification within their first year with us. The aim is to have all staff qualified as Mental Health First Aiders alongside statutory Safeguarding and First Aid qualifications.

“The course was excellent. The tutor was very knowledgeable and made a challenging topic interesting and engaging. She has made the two days enjoyable and I know my knowledge has improved drastically. She enabled me to feel safe during some difficult topics.”
