New Partnership with Housing 21
Derby County Community Trust are expanding their Extra Time Hub offer in the city, by partnering with brand new retirement living development Claremont House, part of Housing 21.
The Extra Time Hub is a social session funded by the EFL Trust which runs across 12 clubs nationally.
Prior to lockdown it operated fortnightly coffee mornings at Pride Park Stadium, but has diversified to provide online activity over the last year.
Sam Pritchard, Assistant Court Manager at Claremont House, said:
"Claremont House is a new retirement complex in Derby belonging to Housing 21. We are really excited to be working in partnership with Derby County Community Trust and the Extra Time Hub programme.
"We are really passionate on reducing our residents' social isolation during the pandemic. Working in partnership will open so many doors for our residents now and in the future.
"Currently the loan tablet scheme has been a real asset to us and it's creating lots of interest. We have supported one of our residents in particular, who was very isolated, to join the online sessions and they are really enjoying the Extra Time Hub coffee morning.
We're all really enjoying taking part and all week we count down the days ready to join! Out of lockdown we are even more excited to welcome the Derby County Community Trust team onsite and join in the activities they have to offer."
Luke Wilkinson, Health Team Leader at Derby County Community Trust, said:
"We are so pleased to have Claremont House on board. With almost 50 flats in their new complex, we can help so many residents who may have been isolated otherwise.
"It is great to see that they are already engaging with us virtually and we can't wait to be able to deliver sessions in person once it is safe to do so."
The Extra Time Hub and Tackling Loneliness projects have been vital over the past year to keep participants connected, with virtual sessions, IT loan schemes and a postal newsletter.
