F&E squads round-off season with presentation evening

Derby County Community Trust recently welcomed all our football and education learners to pride park stadium to celebrate this year’s achievements.
We had a positive evening where all our learners from different venues across Derbyshire came to celebrate their achievements from competing in the EFL CEFA leagues for the past academic year. This evening gave a chance for all students to come together as one club and celebrate their different achievements.
Buxton and Leek College
There were 2 teams competing from the Buxton and leek college venue which is based at Derby University. On the pitch this season both teams had positive seasons which we look at below. During this season our A team came runners up in the CEFA Central 1 league scoring 72 goals across the season, while also reaching the cup quarter finals. Came mid table in the CEFA Central 3 league, while also having a memorable come back against local rivals Nottingham Forest winning 4-3 after being 3-1 down at half time.

Chesterfield
Our Next venue is our Chesterfield venue where we have our first league winners the Derby County D team who didn’t lose a game in the CEFA North Central 2 league. Across this season they scored 96 goals in 21 games. As they won their league, they also secured a trip to Wembley to watch the league 1 play off final and to be presented with the league trophy. Moving onto the second team at this venue Derby County E had a difficult season but enjoyed taking part and secured two 6-3 wins against Barnsley and Sheffield Wednesday.

Derby Moor
At Derby Moor we had one team competing this year and was a difficult season for the players as availability issues caused a lot of games to be cancelled. However, when games were on the lads had an enjoyable time and showed their ability especially against the other Derby team in their league and came out winner 4-2.

Derby City Centre
Located at the new Leisure United Racecourse venue our city centre venue had lots of positives throughout the year. There were some big results across the year with a 7-0 win over Birmingham in the league and a 6-2 win over Liverpool in the cup being highlights. As well as this the players got a visit from two of Derby’s first team players giving them insight what it’s like to be a professional footballer.

Finally looking at the women’s teams first the women’s A team had a positive season overall after a slow start picked up some big results and ended up finishing 4th in the Women’s North division. Finally, we have our second league winners and cup winners the women’s B team. Only losing 1 game all season the women lifted the South division trophy and the national cup at Wembley after being invited to the championship play off final for the CEFA awards celebration.
