Football and Education Team Play Aston Villa Match Report

Football match

Friesland B Team 0 - 4 Aston Villa

An impressive second half performance from Aston saw them earn a 4-0 win at the hands of Friesland on a cold, wet and dark afternoon in Sandiacre.

Just after the ten-minute mark, no.2 for the visitors got in behind but Harry denied him with his feet.

The ball fell to the Aston Villa no.7 just inside the box but he only managed to hit the side netting.

Harry was called into action again when he produced a good save from a free kick from the visitor’s no.23.

Another chance fell to Villa when their no.26 was played through, but his effort was easily collected by Harry. Friesland started with a back five and caught Aston Villa offside multiple times throughout the first half by using a high line.

The visitors made a good start to the second half when their no.10 was presented with three presentable opportunities, the first two were denied by a great double save from Harry and the final one went into the side netting.

Aston Villa’s no.33 beat the offside trap and produced a good save from Harry.

The away side took the lead moments later when no.24’s shot was deflected into the bottom corner.

Villa doubled their lead a couple of minutes after when the no.7 side-footed the ball into the corner following a low cross from the left. A rare forage forward from the Aston Villa no.2 resulted in his effort being skied over the bar.

The result was put to bed with fifteen minutes to go when the visitor’s no.7 managed to squirm his shot through Harry for 3-0.Villa added a fourth when their no.23 got to the ball before Harry to poke home.

In the closing stages, the away side struck the post from close range through their no.24.

Fun fact: it was so cold that Adam and Alan complained about not being able to feel their feet.
