Engineered Learning to Provide New Opportunities for Learners
Derby County Community Trust are delighted to be working in partnership with Engineered Learning to provide our traineeship learners with the opportunity to gain invaluable work experience.
The engineering company offers accredited work experience for young people designed to teach them skills in welding and steel fabrication. Along with work experience, they support learners to build self-confidence, develop a positive self-image, work with others, develop team skills and raise motivation.
Our traineeship is a 12 week programme designed to support 16-24 year olds back into education, employment or training. As part of the project, each learner completes a 100 hour placement in a career area of their choice, along with their Functional Skills qualifications, where required, and many other workshops tor eady them for the workplace.
Previous successes have seen trainees go on to our apprenticeships and into full-time roles within Derby County Community Trust and beyond.
Jodie Hayes, Education Lad, said, "This new partnership with Engineered Learning will offer our learners a brand new experience in a field which we are not able to cater for in-house.
"Engineering is such a brilliant subject area for our learners to get involved in, especially as Derby has such a rich history in this field, and we can't wait to see how our students progress."
Our next traineeship for learners aged 16-24 begins on 12th July and will offer the opportunity to take part in a dedicated engineering work placement.
