Derby County Community Trust Take Part In PL Kicks Cup
This week Derby County Community Trust have been involved in the Premier League Kicks Cup.
Running over three days, the tournament brought together sides from 90 clubs across the country and saw special guest appearances including from England star Lucy Staniforth.
The Trust entered teams on all three days of the tournament with our boys’ team finishing second in their group on day one with three wins, two draws and just one defeat. Day two saw our female side take part and they were named winners of the Fair Play Award, which was voted for by the other teams and by the officials on the day. On the final day our Pan Disability team reached the semi final stage losing 2-1 to AFC Bournemouth after an unbeaten group stage.
PL Kicks Co-Ordinator Zack Yates, said: “It was an amazing competition for our young people to be involved in. I am proud of how they have done throughout the tournament and how they have represented themselves and the Trust.
“Events like this show the opportunities that Kicks offers the participants and how it can bring people together from a variety of different backgrounds through the power of football.”
