Derby County Community Trust: Response to National Lockdown 5th January

As another national lockdown gets underway across England, Derby County Football Club and Community Trust will continue to ensure participants and fans can stay safe, fit and connected.

Sessions will be running virtually where possible and include over 20 weekly classes for adults, from HIIT to Fitness Yoga, and virtual primary school lessons covering a number of key topic areas are available for those who are home schooling. Our Inclusion department will also be digitising many of their sessions to keep in touch over this period.

Key mental health provision for males and teenagers will be continued through our Team Talk and Tackle it programmes.

Targeted provision for select squads including our Girls’ Regional Talent Centre will run virtually and all learners on Derby County Community Trust’s further and higher education courses will continue to receive remote provision.

Since the first lockdown we have been accepting kind donations from the public to support the city’s food banks.

The food donation hub at Pride Park Stadium will continue to open in line with new regulations. Every Thursday, from 11.00am-2.00pm supporters are encouraged to drop off donations outside of Main Reception. This journey should be included in an essential trip or as part of an individual’s daily exercise.

All donations will be contactless and staff will all be wearing relevant PPE and abiding by all social distancing rules.

Along with supporting the city’s food banks we recognise the isolating effects of lockdown, particularly on the older generation who may live alone.

To support social interaction, Derby County Community Trust’s Tackling Loneliness Together project will provide the opportunity for participants to borrow IT equipment to take part in their virtual sessions and keep in touch with their friends and family.

If you could benefit from a free IT loan during this period, or know someone who could, please get in touch at [email protected].

The virtual timetable consists of 25 weekly sessions and many of these are open for all. There are a wide range of activities on offer. Click below to see our full list of sessions.

The Stay Safe. Stay Fit. Stay Connected. project will continue to provide support for anybody in need and keep fans connected across this difficult time.
