Y3/4 Mini Basketball
This is an ACHIEVE Competition, meaning this is an opportunity for students to compete at a high level. Winning schools will go through to county finals, with potential to be selected for county squad.
This event will be played in a 3x3 Basketball format. As the name suggests 3x3 features three players playing against each other with 2 substitutes. 3x3 is played slightly differently than regular basketball as well. With the game taking place in just one half of a traditional basketball it takes away the concept of attacking or defending halves for teams. the game starts with a team decides if they would like to attack or defend first.
Similar to traditional basketball there's also a shot clock which allows a fixed time frame for the attacking team to take a shot once gaining possession of the ball. The shot clock is 20 seconds to encourage a quick faced pace game experience.
Scoring - there are two types of scoring in 3x3 Two point shot which is shooting and scoring a basket from anywhere outside the arc line or from the two point line. One point shots are scored from inside the arc or the one point zone which are worth 1 point. A normal basketball is used throughout play.
If you would like to bring two teams to this event you must book 2 places below!
