No. Students: 7 Players in team, Max 15 players in a squad. 

Rugby 7s competition will be for years 7 and 8 students, to play competitive rugby representing their school. Smaller team sizes mean that schools will be more likely to field a squad.

Rugby 7’s is full contact and features most of the same rules as regular 15-a-side rugby.

Squads are a maximum of 15 players, with 7 players on the field at any time. The 7 players on the pitch, 3 are forwards who must be able to scrummage and 4 backs.

Players must wear boots and gum shields to play.

Schools can enter multiple squads.
