The Introduction to Teaching Handball Award is designed specifically for the teaching profession.

The course recognises the skill-set of teachers, and provides the sport-specific knowledge and understanding to complete the delivery jigsaw.

On completion of this award, you should be able to:

• introduce handball to complete beginners

• deliver and develop the component skills of the game

• plan, deliver and review adapted games

• be creative with use of equipment and space

• understand and apply the rules.

This course is designed for teachers and teaching assistants to introduce the basics of handball and how to lead fun, safe handball sessions during a PE lesson or after school club. There is no assessment at the end and (upon completion) participants receive a certificate for their CPD folder.
