About You:

Role Purpose:

As a Physical Activity & Health Officer (Adults), you'll be a vital member of our Health team, focusing on delivering projects that support people living with long-term health conditions and promoting healthy lifestyles. You'll work closely with individuals and groups to help them make positive changes to their health and wellbeing through physical activity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver health interventions for adults with long-term health conditions.
  • Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to facilitate behavioural change.
  • Conduct one-to-one and group sessions to support participants in making healthy lifestyle changes.
  • Build strong relationships with participants and inspire them towards positive outcomes.
  • Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to achieve shared goals.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills and proficiency in using IT tools.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • Mental Health First Aid Certification
  • Level 3 Personal Trainer or GP Referral qualification (preferred)
  • Proven experience supporting individuals with long-term health conditions
  • Strong empathy and person-centered approach
  • Ability to motivate and inspire others
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in using relevant IT tools

Contract length: 12-month fixed term contract, full time
