Derby County Community Trust has a clear mission.  We harness the power of Derby County Football Club to improve lives and communities through sport, physical activity, health and education.  We help more than 25,000 people per year and our work is recognised and respected at regional and national levels.  Since 2008 we have been encouraging participation and achievement in sport, improving health and wellbeing, providing and enhancing education and promoting equality and diversity.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Physical Activity and Health Officer, supporting the delivery of the Active Schools programme, working with primary schools to increase physical activity levels in fun and easy ways across the whole school community, and our Live IT programme, which is a child weight management programme supporting children and young people aged 5 -17 who are over weight, to lose weight.

The role requires delivery of high-quality interventions including physical activity and healthy eating sessions both in school and local community settings, working with parents/carers to build knowledge to in turn support their child towards a healthier lifestyle.

Our values underpin everything we deliver as a charity. You will be responsible for modelling these values through yourself and your work. Alignment to our values is key to being successful in this role, along with excellent communication, good IT skills and the ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team.

In return we can offer:

  • Excellent CPD, training and development opportunities
  • 24/7 Employee Assistance Helpline
  • Cash Health Plan
  • Death in service benefit (minimum 3x salary benefits)
  • Complimentary season tickets for Derby County Football Club (x2 tickets)
  • Free access to Derby County Community Trust Health and Fitness sessions
  • 20% discount at DCFC Megastore
  • Annual Christmas Shutdown (no annual leave required)

This role is full time (52 weeks per year) or can be offered as a term time contract on a pro-rata basis (40 weeks per year) and initially fixed term for a period of 12 months with the possibility of extension subject to funding.

For an informal discussion about the role please contact Sharon Dale, Head of Projects and Development ([email protected])
