We have an exciting opportunity for a Physical Activity and Health Officer to join our growing Health department, working across our substance misuse programmes. You will work in partnership with specialist substance misuse treatment services, to support substance misusers with social and community integration, enabling them to lead meaningful lives.
You will have the ability to communicate with clients in a positive and friendly manner to encourage them to overcome barriers whilst engaging in physical activity and healthy lifestyle programmes. This will include the delivery of appropriate physical, social and recovery based activities to either individuals and/or groups.
With at least one year’s experience working in substance misuse, you’ll be a self-starter with the ability to manage your own workload and priorities. You’ll have demonstrable experience of communicating effectively with a variety of people from personal and professional backgrounds, the ability to demonstrate an empathetic and person-centred approach, with an understanding of how sports and physical activity could have a positive impact of individuals.
