Uniform Collection Supports Over 50 Families

Over the summer our Tackle It and GREAT Girls Hub participants held a uniform collection. The two groups received donations of shirts, shoes, skirts, and trousers at Pride Park Stadium.
The donations were turned into 50 uniform packages which have been distributed to families who have applied to receive one, helping to support them with the return to school. We also provided local health practitioners with uniform which will be given to asylum seeking families as they settle in the UK and their children start at school.
Matt Deacon, Health Team Leader, said: “It was a fantastic initiative from the young people and was for a worthwhile cause. To be able to support 50 families is amazing and I want to give a massive thank you to everyone who donated and helped make it possible. We couldn’t have done it without you and the support you give us and the families we work with is so appreciated.”
The success of the project has inspired the groups to already think about their next initiative, which will aim to collect winter coats in October half term - further details to be announced nearer the time.
