Seven Goals See Off West Brom

Celebration

Derby County A moved into the next round of the EFL CEFA Cup with a 7-0 win against West Bromwich Albion.

West Brom started on the front foot but quickly fell behind as a free-kick drifted into the far corner in just the fourth minute.

The hosts then had a couple of chances but were unable to find a second before the half hour mark as the visiting ‘keeper kept them at bay. The second goal did come after the half hour mark as a ball into the area was controlled and this time placed beyond the Albion ‘keeper.

Derby’s pressure continued and they got a deserved third before just before the break as a well worked corner routine was rolled into an empty net.

After the break the hosts continued on the front foot and after being denied on a couple of occasions they quickly added a fourth and a fifth just after the hour mark.

West Brom looked to find a consolation as the clock ticked down but despite some good pressure fell further behind as Derby added another two unanswered goals to wrap up a strong performance.

Elsewhere Derby County A (Women) recorded a 16-0 win against Bristol City, while despite strong performances Derby Country E, Derby County D and Derby County B were on the wrong side of the result in their respective matches.
