Pride Park Pride x EFL Rainbow Football Campaign

Pride Park Pride was launched by the Derby County Community Trust in February 2024. With its mission to provide an inclusive and supportive environment for football participation, regardless of ability, sexuality or gender identity. After a short break, the programme is returning this week.
The re-launch has been timed to coincide with all English Football League’s dedicated LGBTQ+ campaign featuring rainbow-coloured footballs. The campaign is taking place between Thursday 6 – Monday 17 February, with Derby County’s dedicated fixture being tonight’s against Oxford United. Working with PUMA and Football v Homophobia, the campaign aims to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community, helping to showcase football as a welcoming environment for all.
As part of this, existing Pride Park Pride participants were invited to the Derby County v Oxford City EFL Championship fixture at Pride Park on Tuesday 11th February to deliver the match ball and have a photo pitchside.
What is Pride Park Pride?
Pride Park Pride is an inclusive football programme designed to break down barriers in sport by offering a safe, non-judgmental space for individuals to socialise, connect, and participate in football. Open to people of all abilities, sexual orientations, and gender identities, the sessions aim to increase confidence and foster friendships.
One of the cornerstones of Pride Park Pride is its commitment to providing a safe space for everyone. Whether you're an experienced footballer or new to the game, Pride Park Pride makes it easy for everyone to get involved. The sessions cater to a variety of skill levels, ensuring that no one feels out of place.
Pride Park Pride sessions will run on Wednesdays at various times. During the winter, these will be held at Derby Arena. The sessions are free of charge and open to anyone. To sign up for the re-launch session or to find out more, please click here.
Pride Park Pride is supported by the Premier League Fans Fund. The Premier League Fans Fund provides grants to support football clubs at all levels of the game to strengthen connections between them, their fans and local communities.
