Pride Park Plod Raises Over £3000

A Small Section of the team who walked the Pride Park Plod

Starting at 4pm on Thursday 21st July, staff from Derby County Community Trust took on the Pride Park Plod to raise funds for their programmes. They walked a two-mile loop of Pride Park for 24 hours clocking up 66 miles (33 loops), with several staff members passing 20 miles.

Throughout the 24 hours staff were spurred on by support from people both on Pride Park and social media. They were also joined by BBC Radio Derby, Trust supporters, trustees, and even Rammie joined them for the final lap!

Pete Collins, Business Development Manager, who organised the Plod, completed 20 laps (40 miles) and said:

“Everyone played a part in what was an amazing 24 hour event – from those who walked a lap or two, to those who covered serious mileage to those who supported whilst working or kept others going with food and drinks – it was a real team effort and shows what we are all about at the Trust, we really embodied our values in that time.

“We’re really grateful to everyone who supported us as well and supported us on the day and helped raise a fantastic amount of money, which completed smashed our original target and will allow us to continue our work in the community.”

In total the event raised over £3000, which will be used to support our community projects.
