NCS Wave One Update

We’ve come to the end of wave one of this year’s NCS. The group that was made up of 95 young people from across Derby spent the first week of the national programme at Dearne Valley on a residential trip. Throughout the residential they took part in a number of workshops and teambuilding activities.
This week they have come back to Derby to carry out a variety of social action projects. The group have raised over £3000 for local and national charities including Derbyshire Refugee Solidarity, The Hope Centre, and Cancer Research UK.
Emma Pilgrim, Events and Projects Manager, said: “It’s been great to see the journey the young people have been on over the last two weeks. They have come together to achieve some amazing things and raised a considerable amount of funds for some very worthy causes.
“I’m really looking forward to seeing the next three waves and the difference they can make in the community.”
