To mark the 50th anniversary of Derby County Football Club's iconic 1974/75 First Division title and the 80th anniversary of legendary local bike builders Mercian Cycles, a one-of-a-kind bicycle is being raffled - and it could be yours.

Founded in 1946, Mercian Cycles is proudly celebrating 80 years of crafting hand-built bespoke bikes. In honour of this milestone, Mercian have generously donated a one-off special edition superlight road bike to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Derby County's legendary 1975 title win.

Once Mercian's flagship race model in the 1970s, the Surperlight was renowned for being the lightest frame in the range. This exclusive edition pays homage to Derby County's legacy, featuring the club's iconic colours and badges, with the names of the title-winning manager and squad wrapped around the seat tube in Mercian's signature 'barber pole' design. Fonts from the 1970s complete the bikes classic look. This bike is a true one-of-a-kind and will look great either on the road or adorning your wall.

This one-of-a-kind bicycle will be raffled with the goal of raising £4,000 - a subtle nod to the legendary squad. All funds raised will support Derby County Community Trust, helping to make a lasting impact within the community. 

The winning bidder will be announced on 1st August 2025, and the bike will be officially presented at Derby County's first home game of the season against Coventry City on Saturday 16th August.
