Good performance sees Derby beat Wolves
Our Football and Education side took a 5-1 win over Wolves with Player of the Match Jevan playing an instrumental role in his side’s success.
Derby started on the front foot and took the lead with just one minute on the clock, a curling freekick finding the back of the net. They continued to control proceedings, but the visitors grew into the game forcing the Derby ‘keeper into action just before the 20th minute. Wolves then went close again but the chipped effort was easily saved. Derby had a goal ruled out for offside before they did add a deserved second in the final few moments of the half.
The hosts struck the bar in search of a third at the start of the second half after a good show of skill in the area. Up the other end Wolves were kept out by another good save from the Derby ‘keeper. The game had a third goal after the hour mark as Derby extended their advantage when a corner was prodded home from close range. Wolves pulled a goal back from the penalty spot but were unable to find a way back into the contest and with two minutes left they conceded a fourth. Derby didn’t stop there though and added a fifth in stoppage time to wrap up a convincing win.
Elsewhere our female side drew 3-3 with Huddersfield in an entertaining contest and another one of our male sides travelled to Wolves but were on the wrong end of a 3-2 score line.
