Derby County Community Trust achieves Menopause Friendly Accreditation

Derby County Community Trust has achieved Menopause Friendly Accreditation recognising the organisation’s commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive workplace.
This accreditation reflects the Trust’s ongoing efforts to foster a culture of openness and understanding, and to ensure the right support is in place for colleagues affected by menopause. By raising awareness, providing resources, and promoting dialogue, the Trust continues to prioritise staff wellbeing and inclusivity across the organisation.
The accreditation was established by Henpicked: Menopause In The Workplace in 2020 to certify high standards and proven practices that embrace menopause in the workplace. It is industry recognised and the only accreditation that sets clear standards that must be met. As such, it is truly meaningful and considered as a mark of excellence for menopause in the workplace.
To achieve this, Derby County Community Trust was assessed by an Independent Panel and had to demonstrate evidence of its effectiveness in five key areas, namely: culture, policies and practices, training, engagement and working environment.
Lisa Anderson, HR Manager at Derby County Community Trust, said:
“We’re incredibly proud to have achieved the Menopause Friendly Accreditation. It reflects the genuine commitment across the Trust to create a workplace where everyone feels supported, heard and understood. By making menopause awareness part of our everyday culture, we’re helping to create a more inclusive and compassionate environment for all our colleagues.”
In 2023, Derby County Community Trust was recognised at the Menopause Friendly Employer Awards as a finalist in the “Most Supportive Partner” category. This category celebrated excellent practice demonstrated by organisations that cared deeply about not only ensuring their own workplace is menopause friendly but also actively encouraging others to do the same.
Deborah Garlick, CEO and founder of Henpicked: Menopause in the Workplace, said:
“As a community trust committed to improving other people’s lives, Derby County Community Trust knows only too well the importance of an inclusive environment. What is most impressive about its approach to being menopause friendly is how well it cascades the best practice among colleagues to the wider community that they serve. We know that menopause friendly workplaces encourage employees to be menopause friendly outside of work and the impact of Derby County Community Trust’s supporting partner activities shows this very clearly.”
Derby County Community Trust has joined an elite group of menopause friendly accredited employers including FTSE100 companies to charities, public sector bodies to high street retailers and global banking groups to football clubs. All proudly display their badge to show they have adjusted their working environment and implemented practices to change the lived experience of menopause in their workplace.
