On Friday 21st March, Derby County Community Trust invited their DS Active participants to join them for an evening of fun to mark the occasion of World Down Syndrome Day.

At the Community Corner, participants and their families were greeted by members of the Inclusion team. The evening consisted of a quiz, with prizes available for first, second and third place.

First place was a signed DCFC football, second place took home tickets to watch a DCFC game using the DCCT Sensory Room and the third prize was a hamper of DCFC merchandise.

Amongst the Inclusion team, other members from the Trust came along to enjoyed the evening!

Friday's World Down Syndrome Day celebration event gave the chance for the inspiring people that we work with to pull on their odd socks and celebrate together! It was fantastic to recognise World Down Syndrome Day together with our participants from our DS Active team and their amazing families!

It was important for the participants to celebrate together with their loved ones but more importantly, have fun! All of the people that were in the room are truly inspiring people and I feel privileged to be part of their provision here at Derby County Community Trust!

Thomas Hodges, Inclusion team member and NCS Project Officer shared his thoughts on the event, above.
