DCCT celebrate International Women's Day

To celebrate International Women’s Day, Derby County Community Trust and Derby County FC hosted an evening event at Pride Park Stadium.
As the guests entered the suite, they were given a printed tote bag, filled with complimentary health and wellbeing items and a welcome drink.
Food stations consisting of cheese boards and sweet treats were available, with a number of stands for the attendees to browse.
Derby County Community Trust staff were on hand to speak through holistic therapies, blood pressure, height and weight readings along with a dedicated space for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Representatives from Her Game Too joined the event, sat beside Lucy Kay from The Mind and Body Tree.
From 5:30pm, the guests were asked to take a seat, whilst hearing from a number of women in football advocates.
A few crowd favourites amongst those who spoke were Derby County F.C Women’s Captain, Emily Joyce and defender, Hannah Ward. They captivated the audience, sharing their youth journeys and the dedication it took to get to where they are today.
After the speeches had finished, a raffle was drawn before beginning the holistic therapy and physical activity taster sessions.
I absolutely loved having the opportunity to put on an event for Internationals Women’s Day, it was so inspiring to hear such fantastic stories and highlight the strengths and skills that females in a football environment have. Everyone came away feeling very inspired!
