Curtis Davies Named Rams’ Community Champion for 2021-22 Season

Derby County Football Club and Community Trust are delighted to announce Curtis Davies as PFA Community Champion for the 2021/22 season.
In his five full seasons to date at the club, Curtis has not only played a significant role on the pitch, but also within the community and wider aspects of the football club.
As a vastly experienced player, he has held the post of PFA representative for several seasons as well as acting as an ambassador for many causes, most prominently for Equality, Diversity and Social Inclusion.
Curtis’ presence at community events has always been impactful, and he continued to support community initiatives throughout the challenges over the past season, even when Covid restrictions were still in place.
He notably played a special role in supporting young Rams’ fan Tilly through her cancer treatment, sending messages of support alongside welcoming her to Pride Park as part of the Rams Family Fund initiative.
Simon Carnall, Head of Community, added: “Curtis embodies the community-facing side of Derby County Football Club. He is not just a dedicated player who has cemented his place as a leader on the pitch but is also well respected off the pitch too.
“He is the first to come forward for all kinds of community event, whether it’s representing the club in his ambassador role, supporting fundraising efforts or just simply keeping in touch with fans.
“We are pleased to formally recognise the work which he continues to do within our communities.”
The PFA Community Champion is awarded by each professional club at the end of the season, to recognise players’ efforts beyond the pitch, in the hearts of their communities.
