Leila's Story
Leila first got involved in our Live IT sessions after we were working in her school through our Active Schools project. On completing our Rammie’s Healthy Heroes lunch time club, she began joining more sessions out in the community.
Shortly after she began joining these sessions, the project had to go virtual due to the first national lockdown. However, this didn’t stop Leila from taking part and enjoying every sessions, her favourite being DanceFit which took place on Zoom throughout lockdown.
Along with attending Live IT sessions, Leila always plays for a local football team.
Her mum said: “She is proud to be the only girl in her mixed team. She enjoys socialising with all sorts of different people and doesn’t want to play for an all-girls team!
“Live IT has not just supported her physical activity but has taught her about the importance of eating well to. Her biggest downfall has always been crisps, and while she will always love them, she knows it’s important to stick to recommended portions now. She’s always on her feet and has so much more energy.”
Live IT supports children and young people aged 5-17, through interactive groups sessions (under 12s) and personal training for those aged 12+.
