Lee's Story
Meet Lee
Lee Cranston started his journey with the Trust as a student on our Football and Education programme and has since joined our degree programme and begun his coaching career.
To support with his degree and coaching aspirations Lee has been a volunteer coach on our Football and Education programme helping one of our sides to win the CEFA Central One League for the third year running.
“I needed to complete some coaching for my degree,” He explained. “And having been on the Football and Education programme it made perfect sense to start volunteering on it.”
Lee has been working closely with Jacob Straw, Higher Education Lead Mentor, as well as the other coaches who work on the programme, and has found the experience useful.
He said: “I’m learning a lot working with Jacob, especially given that he is an A Licence coach he has a lot to teach me. It’s been a good experience working with the other coaches as well and getting to see different coaching styles and takes on situations.”
He believes everything is learning during his volunteering will stand him in good stead for his future coaching career.
“I’m hoping to carry on coaching after my degree,” He explained. “So the experiences and development I am getting now are only going to benefit me moving forward.”
