Our Volunteer Champion awarded to an individual or team who have made a significant contribution and displayed an outstanding commitment and dedication to Derby County Community Trust.

They support the work of the trust with their knowledge, passion and skills, giving their time freely for the benefit of the thousands of people we work with, whilst presenting a positive image for DCCT.

This year two individuals claimed the Volunteer Champion Award – Jimmy Brentnall and Andy Holden.

Andy has played a crucial role within Derby 10K for a number of years. He is dedicated and passionate about the event and is a very well respected member if the 10K team. His work ethic, high standards of work, knowledge and experience is vital in making the event the success it is. Not only does he give his time freely he provides essential event equipment in kind which has also developed the event.

Jimmy has been a participant within Active Choices and Active Supporters and now volunteers for 20 hours a week. He puts members of the programme at ease and is a supportive influence to many. He is relatable and has assisted numerous clients in overcoming their anxiety and ensuring they receive a positive experience within DCCT programmes.
