Saturday 6th August will see Derby County take on Brighton & Hove Albion in more than just an EFL Championship fixture as our Active Supporters team will play their Brighton counterparts pre match outside the iPro stadium.

The Brighton fixture kicks off DCFC’s 2016/17 Championship campaign and will provide an excellent platform for the Derby County Community Trust to showcase the Active Supporters programme with 60 minutes of football against Brighton.

Active Supporters is a free physical activity programme which aims to offer males aged 18-65 across Derbyshire free physical activity with sessions including Football, Boxing, Gym & Swim, Cycling and Badminton taking place across the city on a weekly basis.

The Active Supporters match will take place on a pop-up pitch outside the club shop, kicking off at 1pm and coming to a close at around 2pm. Fans can engage with the match by coming along to cheer on the Rams, anyone who comes along will have the chance to win a signed Derby County shirt which will be given out as part of the half time draw.

Active Supporters Team Leader, Luke Wilkinson said:

“Saturday is a great opportunity to showcase the work we do within Derby & Derbyshire to all the rams fans attending the opening game.”

“This is the first event of its kind that we have done at a home fixture and we’re looking forward to welcoming Brighton, although hope we get a win along with the 1st team!”
