Participation programmes are at the heart of what we offer at the Derby County Community Trust.

These are the grassroots programmes which provide physical activity and coaching to youngsters across Derbyshire.

Through our participation programmes, we aim to provide a safe and enjoyable environment for children of all ages to practice their skills, take part in tournaments, make new friends and have fun, while benefiting from coaching from our highly-skilled coaching team.

Premier League Primary Stars

Holiday Coaching

During the school holidays we operate our popular Holiday Coaching courses at venues around the county. Courses aim to provide a safe and enjoyable environment for primary aged children to practice their skills, take part in tournaments, make new friends and have fun while benefiting from coaching from our highly-skilled coaching team.

Weekend Coaching

Working in conjunction with Powerleague Soccerdome, Derby County Community Trust offers progressive weekend football coaching sessions for children of primary school age to enjoy in a fun and relaxed environment. Our highly-skilled coaching team designs sessions covering core skills such as passing, control, shooting and dribbling, ensuring that these are delivered in-line with the specific needs of the children at each age group.

Talent Identification Programme (TIPs)

Our Talent Identification Programmes (TIPs) are INVITE-ONLY programmes which provide opportunities for players between the ages of five and 12 years to benefit from advanced coaching, and to develop within the DCFC player pathway where applicable. Sessions are designed to develop the skills relevant to the modern game.

After School Clubs

We offer a wide variety of after school clubs to suit all age groups. Sessions are designed to provide a safe and enjoyable environment in which participants can improve their skills, have fun and socialise with their friends.

Derby County Girls’ Regional Talent Club

The Derby County Girls’ Regional Talent Centre (RTC) aims to deliver enhanced coaching and support designed to improve the development of elite female players, through the FA Girls’ England talent pathway. There are 32 national RTC-approved FA elite development centres which hold a Tier 2 licence. We train players across four age groups – Under 10s, Under 12s, Under 14s and Under 16s, with weekly training taking place at the University of Derby.

Girls’ Football

The PL Girls’ Football (PLG) programme is aimed at girls aged between 14 and 24 years, giving them the opportunity to attend free coaching sessions delivered by Derby County Community Trust staff. The weekly sessions are open to all levels of participant within the age range and are delivered by coaches qualified to a minimum of FA Level 2 across all our hub sites.
