Team Talk is a men’s mental health initiative designed to get men talking about their state of mind in relaxed, weekly sessions.

Running from 6-8pm every Monday at the Community Trust office, 14 Pride Point Drive, the idea was brought to life by a Derby County employee, Sean Hedley, who has experienced his own difficulties with mental health, and the dedicated staff at the Trust.

The sessions aim to give participants a ‘safe space’ to chat, socialise and take part in leisure activities such as table football, cards and watch the World Cup. The aim is to keep a relaxed atmosphere where people can meet others who may be experiencing similar mental health issues. There will also be the chance to take part in wider Trust sessions including exercise classes and football.

Luke Wilkinson, who’s heading up the project at the Trust, said, “the focus on mental health, especially for men, is getting greater and we want to be backing the movement as much as we can. A lot of our work focuses on physical health and we want to be able to provide the same services for mental health too.”

Four new hubs will soon be opening, thanks to our new funding sponsors at 32Red.

Simply turn up to any of the sessions, every Monday at 6pm, at Derby County Community Trust, 14 Pride Point Drive, Derby DE24 8BX, or for more information, fill out the form below.
