High quality post-16 education for learners throughout Derbyshire.
Our current pupil roll exceeds 250 post-16 learners, studying a variety of qualifications across 6 different education venues. Depending on the learner’s academic ability, learners can study A Levels, BTEC Equivalents in Sport at Level 3, Level 2 and Level 1; as well as a unique construction and brick laying qualification. At certain venues, we can also offer students the opportunity to re sit their maths and English GCSE’s if needed.
We pride ourselves on our quality of provision, which is why we work with a variety of different education partners across Derbyshire to ensure a high-quality education regardless of where you live. Our education partners have outstanding reputations for education delivery across the county, ensuring our students receive a top-quality education alongside their football provision.

Football
All students across our college programmes will be able to play for one of our Derby County Community Trust College teams throughout their time in education with us.
- Train 3 times per week and play competitive fixtures every Wednesday in the EFL CEFA League.
- 7 male teams and 1 female team, with teams for all abilities.
- Our coaches range from UEFA B to UEFA Pro Licence and have vast experiences in football that you can learn from.
- Play home games at your study venue and travel to away games on the DCCT minibus.

- Annual DCCT College play on the pitch event where students get the opportunity to play at Pride Park Stadium.
- All squads play at least 1 game at DCFC’s Moor Farm Training Centre per season.
- All players receive their own DCFC training kit and tracksuits.
- All students attend a signing on event at Pride Park Stadium with a stadium tour.
- All students receive a ticket to a minimum of 1 DCFC men’s and women’s first team fixture.

The Qualification
NCFE Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport and Physical Activity (equivalent to 3 A Levels). The qualification is assignment based.
Entry Requirements
Minimum four grade 4 GCSE’s, including maths and English.
Timetable
The course is full-time, meaning learners may be expected to be in every day depending on their timetable.

The Qualification
BTEC Level 3 in Sport Coaching and Development: This is a two-year course that is primarily assignment based.
Entry Requirements
Minimum four grade 4 GCSE’s, including one of maths and English or a relevant Level 2 qualification.
Timetable
The course is full-time, meaning learners may be expected to be in every day depending on their timetable.

Friesland School Sixth Form
The Qualification
OCR Level 3 Cambridge Technical Diploma in Sport and Physical Activity OR learners can choose 3 A-Levels from a list of subjects that are on offer.
Entry Requirements
Level 3 course – Minimum four grade 4 GCSE’s, including maths and English (assignment based)
A-Levels – Five GCSEs at grade 5-9, depending on the subjects (Exam based with some coursework depending on subject)

The course is full-time, meaning learners may be expected to be in every day depending on their timetable.

Lees Brook Academy Sixth Form
The Qualification
Level 3 qualification in sport OR a Level 1 qualification in construction.
Entry Requirements
Level 3 course – Minimum four grade 4 GCSE’s, including maths and English (assignment based)
Level 1 construction
A variety of GCSE grades ranging from grade 1-3 (primarily practical assessments)

Eve studied the OCR Level 3 Cambridge Technical Diploma in Sport and Physical Activity at Friesland School, completing her studies in summer of 2023.
Whilst in her second year, Eve progressed to play for Derby County Women’s first team, becoming a regular member of the squad in the 2023/24 season.
I’d never really been involved at an academy before but by joining Derby County Community Trust, they saw some potential in me to progress my football career. I can’t believe how far I’ve come in such a short space of time.
