One of city’s most vibrant companies is leading the way on mental health awareness – thanks to a new partnership with Derby County Community Trust.

MSG Tours organises and leads trips for schools, sports clubs and supporters who travel all over the world.

Niamh Houlihan from MSG said: “We have built our reputation on a passion to deliver the unexpected. We set ourselves an exceedingly high bar in customer service and overall experience. Consequently, sports clubs, schools and those on organised ski trips rightly expect our team to be on their game at all times.

Making certain that all runs smoothly and everyone has a fantastic time is a joy but there is also pressure.”

The MSG Tours management recognised that they needed to understand the mental health requirements of their staff and brought in Derby County Community Trust.

Lauren Asquith, the Trust’s Mental Health Lead held a workshop at MSG’s offices at Marble Hall on Nightingale Road and this was followed by a yoga session.

Lauren said: “The team from MSG work in a high-pressured and demanding environment with lots of deadlines and lots of complex logistical challenges.

They have recognised that DCCT can support their staff in managing mental health, spotting stress symptoms in themselves and colleagues and how to support them.”

Derby County Community Trust has linked up with MSG Tours through its business engagement arm, Club 1884. Many companies are benefiting from Club 1884, ranging from those with teams in the Trust-organised Derby 10k to others needing practical help in understanding their staff’s physical and mental health.
