The Easter holidays have been a great success for the Derby County Community Trust. Our holiday coaching courses ran across the county over the past 2 weeks with over 600 children in attendance.
A highlight of the Easter coaching is the annual Easter Egg Hunt around the iPro Stadium. Taking place on Tuesday 29th March, youngsters attending the Powerleague course got the chance to search the Stadium for eggs and clues, with each participant getting an Easter egg for their troubles.
Children who attended the Powerleague course on Friday 8th April were also surprised by an appearance by The Derby County mascot, Rammie. He visited the kids on their lunch break and faced penalties, posed for photos and dished out plenty of high 5’s.
One parent said:
“It’s great to see Rammie at the holiday courses getting the children motivated and taking part. My boys loved every second of it and enjoyed seeing him, they are always excited to get a photo!”
Following the course, Derby County Community Trust Participation Manager, Rich Mansfield said:
“We’re absolutely delighted with how well our Easter Holiday Coaching has gone. The main aim is to give children an outlet to get active and enjoy football whilst they are off school and the past 2 weeks has certainly done that.”
After the success of Easter, we are pleased to announce the details for our next holiday courses around the Whitsun bank holiday.
