NCS Project Officer

We are looking for a Project Officer to join our dedicated NCS team, supporting over 800 16 and 17 year olds to complete the project every year.

The Project Officer will support all recruitment of NCS and be the consistent point of contact for young people and Parents from sign up, through to turn up and completion. The Project Officer will be tasked with meeting targets and develop and deliver a programme that supports this.

Lead Coach

Derby County Community Trust are looking to recruit an experienced, passionate and committed FA Level 2 coach to work within their Schools and Coaching department. The role is full time for a fixed term of 1 year and will include working 35 hours per week delivering high quality sessions as part of our Schools’ Programmes, Holiday Courses, Weekend Club and Talent Identification Programme, predominantly coaching children aged 4-11. The successful candidate will also line manage a small team of Community Coaches/Apprentice Coaches, as well as being responsible for coordinating session bookings with Derby City schools.

The role requires knowledge, experience and competency in delivering school sport and physical education, working within a school environment and community-based coaching.

The closing date for applications is 5pm on Friday 14th February 2020, with interviews being held on Friday 28th February and with a desired start date of Monday 6th April 2020 or sooner.

NCS Team Leaders and NCS Assistant Leaders

We are looking for passionate individuals to lead a team of 16-17-year olds for our NCS programme during the Summer for a 4 week position. This is a fantastic chance to be part of an intensive programme which has positive and tangible outcomes for young people.

Team Leaders will have to encourage, motivate and inspire their team to get the most out of their NCS experience. To do this, candidates will need to be confident and engaging whilst leading their team by example. Where team members face challenges on programme, it will be the task of the Team Leader to provide guidance in the form of supportive and constructive advice.

NCS is an experience of a lifetime that has the potential to change a young person’s outlook and future. As a Team Leader, you will therefore get the chance to inspire the youth of today by acting as a positive role model. To help achieve this goal, Derby County Community Trust will provide training and support to help all successful candidates excel in their role.

Casual Coaches

Derby County Community Trust’s coaching department is looking for FA Football Level 1 and Level 2 coaches to support with their schools based and holiday coaching programmes. Opportunities will be available throughout the year in departments such as Health, Disability, Participation, NCS and Schools. With the potential of further employment following these months. Work will be taken on a casual/sessional basis and will predominantly take place between 9am and 5pm Monday to Friday.

Requirements for Casual Coach applicants

  • Minimum FA Level 1 coaching certificate
  • Up to date First Aid training
  • Up to date Safeguarding certificate
  • Previous experience coaching football
