Physical Education Officer

We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed qualified teacher of Physical Education to work in our Schools Department to shape and deliver programmes across primary and secondary schools. This is a unique and exciting opportunity to work in our team and network of schools. Your role will involve building relationships with secondary schools to develop opportunities for young people to be active, healthy learners. You will also share your expertise with our affiliated primary schools to support PE Co-ordinators to feel equipped to deliver high quality PE.

As a Physical Education Officer, we are looking for you to be:

* Passionate about PE, school sport and physical activity

* Knowledgeable and experienced in teaching the PE curriculum

* Personable and able to strike up good relationships with adults and young people

NCS Leaders Summer 2019

We are seeking highly motivated, energetic individuals, to lead teams of sixteen and seventeen-year olds through our four-week summer NCS programme. We are looking for passionate individuals with experience of working with groups of fifteen young people.  

The NCS Leader is there to be a positive role model, to coach and motivate a team of up to 15 diverse young people. Your role will require you to support, stretch and maximise the learning for all the participants throughout the NCS Programme.  

NCS Leaders will also support all workshop/activity leaders.  

We are looking for NCS Leaders with a flexible approach, who can also commit to working with their team of 15 young people for the entire length of the four-week programme. The first two weeks are residential Monday to Friday and the second two weeks are Monday to Friday, 30 hours each week. 

Compulsory 2-day training programme  

All NCS Leaders will be expected to attend a compulsory 2-day training programme that will be held on:  Waves 1-3 Staff – 8th & 9th June Waves 4-6 Staff – 22nd & 23rd June. 

All successful candidates will also be required to attend at least one pre-departure meeting before the start of programme.  

At the end of the programme team leaders will be expected to attend the graduation ceremony held at Pride Park Stadium.  

Contractual programme dates are:

Wave 2 Swadlincote: 01/07/2019 – 26/07/2019 – Graduation Date (14/08/2019)

Wave 4 Derby: 15/07/2019 – 09/08/2019 – Graduation Date (19/08/2019)

Wave 5 Derby: 22/07/2019 – 16/08/2019 – Graduation Date (21/08/2019)

Wave 6 Derby: 29/07/2019 – 23/08/2019 – Graduation Date (19/09/2019)

Casual Coaches

Derby County Community Trust’s coaching department is looking for FA Football Level 1 and Level 2 coaches to support with their schools based and holiday coaching programmes. Opportunities will be available throughout the year in departments such as Health, Disability, Participation, NCS and Schools. With the potential of further employment following these months. Work will be taken on a casual/sessional basis and will predominantly take place between 9am and 5pm Monday to Friday.

Requirements for Casual Coach applicants

  • Minimum FA Level 1 coaching certificate
  • Up to date First Aid training
  • Up to date Safeguarding certificate
  • Previous experience coaching football
