The Derby County Community Trust is pleased to announce that Smith Partnership, legal partner of Derby County Football Club, have extended their support of the club by expanding their existing partnership to work with the Trust.

As the charitable arm of Derby County Football Club, the Trust uses the power of the football club to improve lives through sport, physical activity and education. Smith Partnership has recognised the growing needs of physical and mental health and wellbeing in the workplace and has identified the Trust as a key partner in catering for this.

One aspect of the partnership will see Smith Partnership staff receive Mental Health First Aid Training, which the Trust can provide as licensed deliverers of the course for both Youth and Adult Mental Health First Aid.

Other partnership work will include exchanging key offers which each organisation is best equipped to deliver, including morning yoga for Smith Partnership staff delivered on site by Derby County Community Trust staff, and legal advice workshops on key lifetime milestones for Trust staff, from mortgage applications to pensions.

Claire Twells, Business Development Partner at Smith Partnership, said “We’re delighted to have agreed this partnership with Derby County Community Trust. Having worked with the football club and DCCT for several years, it was a natural progression to explore opportunities for closer working. We are committed to taking a lead role in the business community in raising awareness of mental health in the workplace and making sure our staff have access to support whenever they need it.”

“We also take great pride in working with an organisation that employs young people who will benefit from access to expert legal advice on a variety of important milestones at a discounted rate.”

Will Turner, Partnerships and Impact Manager at Derby County Community Trust, said, “We’re looking forward to extending our work with Smith Partnership and seeing both sets of staff benefit from what the other organisation can offer.

“The growing need for a focus on mental and physical health on the workplace is evident nationwide so it’s great to see Smith Partnership paving the way and highlighting its importance in Derby.”
