Derby 10K Awarded Silver Status in 2020 Running Awards
We are delighted to announce that the Derby 10K, our flagship event and fundraiser, has been awarded Silver in the region at the 2020 Running Awards.
The race is a major event in Derby's calendar and sees thousands of runners take part each year across the main 10K race and the 3K fun run.
Race records are currently held by athletes Ben Connor (28:29) and Kate Avery (34:38), who have both represented their country at the highest levels.
The race generates in excess of £70K for the Derby County Community Trust's own projects along with countless other local and national causes.
Emma Pilgrim, Events Manager at Derby County Community Trust, said, "The Derby 10K is undoubtedly one of the busiest and most exciting days of the year for us. Not only does it generate vital funds for so many fantastic causes, but it is a real demonstration of teamwork.
"Staff and volunteers from the Trust work alongside local companies to make the race happen each year which means a large proportion the income generated stays within our projects, giving back to the city whch has always been so supportive of the event."
The 2020 Derby 10K has been postponed due to the Coronavirus outbreak, and is now scheduled to take place on 25th October 2020. You can find out more at www.derby10k.co.uk
