The Derby 10K is a 10-kilometre road race, organised by Derby County Community Trust that starts and finishes Pride Park Stadium and passes some of the city’s iconic landmarks.

This weekend thousands of runners took to the streets of Derby for the 19th annual Derby 10K. This year’s annual event saw 4,805 10K and 838 3K Fun Run runners cross the finish line outside the home of the Rams.

The race started and finished exclusively at Pride Park Stadium, with a route that looped Derby’s city centre and passed a range of landmarks, including the historic Cathedral and Guildhall. The Trust was excited to work with this year’s new headline sponsors, Utilita Energy, as well the 3K Fun Run sponsors over at Motorpoint.

Race Village quickly became packed out with crowds preparing for the 9am start time. The Siddiqui family from the popular Channel 4 show Gogglebox, took to the stage to countdown our Wave 1, 2 and 3 runners, before joining the final wave of the 10K themselves.

Spectators cheered throughout the 10K course, with particular emphasis at the 8km mark where the ‘8km Party Corner’ family danced, sang and offered sweets providing motivation for the runners.

A big well done to the top three male and females with the fastest times!

Alex Pilcher of Derby AC was first across the line in 31:32 followed by Joe Rainsford of Heanor RC in 31:51. Samuel Moakes of Sutton in Ashfield Harriers & AC was third in 31:59.

Lisa Palmer-Blount was the fastest female in 36:29. Veleska Wills of Derby AC was second in 36:45 and Carolyn Johnson of Blackheath and Bromley Harriers AC third in 37:06.

Congratulations to everyone who participated in this year’s Derby 10K – we can’t wait until next year!
